Fractional & Interim Leadership

Interim Executive Leadership

“Your executive director left, the search will take six months, and the community cannot wait.”

What people usually say

An executive departure is a strategic event, not just a staffing one. The interim period is when culture drifts, decisions queue up, and residents and families start to wonder what is going on.

I have held this seat. In 2026 I was appointed by the COO to serve as executive leader of a Life Plan Community with a $35M operating budget while continuing in a corporate VP role, with full accountability for operational, financial, clinical, and regulatory performance across independent living and healthcare environments. During that period I led the team through the transition, served as primary liaison to the board, residents association, and families, and finalized and presented the annual operating budget to the finance committee and board.

What I bring

Licensure. Nursing Home Administrator, so a skilled nursing environment is not a coverage problem.

Range. Independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing, plus the corporate side of a twelve-community system.

Stability. The job of an interim is to keep the organization steady, make the decisions that genuinely cannot wait, and hand the permanent hire a healthy place to start rather than a backlog.

Structure

Full-time or near-full-time for a defined term, typically three to nine months. I am not a candidate for the permanent role, which lets me be honest with the team and the board about what I find.

Is this the right fit?
